I have, several times. I'm on my 5th xbox 360 since launch. Luckily, all of them were covered by the warranty, but still, what a fucking hassle.

I love the system (when it works) and the games, but the hardware quality, at least for the first few years, was/is abysmal.

Thats why they have that warranty, it's pretty much there for when the hardware goes out and if it doesn't within the year than normally it will for without having any problems

Bought my 360 in a combo pack with Gears 1 back in (2006 I think)
The graphics card burned out about 1,5 years ago.
But aside from that, it has never failed me.
Despite the dust in my livingroom.

Well, I have bad luck. My best friend is on his 3rd, and his new PS3 just broke too.

Sucks, becausse neither one of us have had a console break on us, and we've been gaming since the late 80's.

Oh well, my Wii runs flawlessly, and ironically, if any console should have broken this gen, it was that one, as it got dropped when we moved. Didn't faze it. Nintendo rocks for hardware quality (and well, the systems are also simpler as well, guess that helps).

Yeah, the more expensive the tech gets, the more fragile it gets.

But on the contrary, the ps2 was rock solid.
I think you could drag it trough the dirt and it'll still work.

My first xbox fried in about a month, i then bought another one and had that one repaired. Sense then my second xbox has also got the rings so im back to 1 box, hoping it holds up until the next gen.

I dropped a ps2 down a flight of stairs and the only thing that happened was the disk fell out of the holster (had a game in it) so i had to take it apart and get it out.


I couldnt tell you how many times i dropped my N64 and it was fine.
